Are you an Inspirational Leader?
The inspirational leadership competency is one of ten management of other competencies defined by the Institute for Social and Emotional Intelligence© (S+EI©).
Inspirational leaders can be anyone in a team.
Individuals do not need to be in a management position to confidently advocate for self/other and make choices to assist self/team reach goals.
Individuals that have a strong inspirational leadership competency, defined by their individual Social + Emotional Intelligence Profile© (S+EIP©) are very likely (Cronbach's Alpha 96%) to have these skills listed.
Do they have the awareness to change the behavior? Do they need support? How do you know what kind of support they need?
Awareness is the foundation for growth!
Individuals having a difficult time understanding how their behavior affects others may need to participate in a 360 inter-rater S+EI© profile. Feedback provided by others and participant is compiled into a workbook for coach and individual to review. A 360 inter-rater is an opportunity for individuals who care for the subject to provide feedback to assist in their awareness and growth.
If we do not know, what we are potentially doing to offend someone, we can’t change the behavior. We need to empower self and other with a caring and compassionate approach.
Ask yourself! Would I like someone to approach me to caringly share their perspectives of my behavior and how it may be creating a challenge that is impacting self and other?
Every minute of every day, no thank you, on a consistent basis, yes, please!
Remember having a solid self-awareness is important when accepting the feedback of others. Not all shared with you will be 100% accurate. The role of individuals receiving feedback is to reflect on the perspectives provided and discover what piece of the feedback is relevant, now, to current goals.
This awareness and direction will assist you to develop strategies to overcome the challenges and succeed with Health + Wealth goals.
As I re-read this article, I am reflecting on what my readers may be thinking. I hear, easier said than done, so true! Life is a challenge, one after another, our beliefs, values, and perspectives are challenged daily in every context of our lives.
